Direct marketers turn to email and fax to combat postal dispute

Neil Parsonson, General Manager of Windowbase

Windowbase is urging companies to use email and fax marketing to win new business with the threat of further postal strikes on the horizon. "With updates on the strike talks reported daily, we've had more enquiries than ever for our email and fax data services," says Neil Parsonson, General Manager. "Over 40% of window company fax numbers are registered with the Fax Preference Service (FPS) so cannot be used for direct marketing. However Windowbase lists over 6,700 unrestricted fax numbers for UK fabricators and installers - and a further 4,760 numbers you must not use. Windowbase also has 61% more UK installer email addresses (7,431) and 29% more UK fabricator emails (3,426) than rival databases.

"Email is very cost-effective," continues Neil, "but fax marketing also offers a cheaper and faster opportunity than 'snail mail'. You don't need to get lots of leaflets printed and the cost of calls is considerably less than the cost stamps. Prospects can have the information in minutes, not days, and could potentially respond immediately. Email and fax marketing are most effective when used to back up mailshots by post. But when the post service is interrupted by industrial action, fax and email marketing means you can continue to generate enquiries and new business."
